The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will retain power in the 2027 general elections.
He cited improving economic indicators, policy consistency, and internal stability within the ruling party, which he said give it an advantage over others.
Governor Sule spoke on Thursday during a feature on Politics Today, a programme aired on Channels Television.
According to the governor, the APC remains ideologically grounded and structurally strong, with the capacity to periodically review its direction through broad-based consultations.
Reacting to criticisms and allegations often raised by opposition parties, the governor said such actions were not new and merely reflected the nature of opposition politics in Nigeria.
“You have seen this before. We had it before the violations in Kaduna, before the issues in Osun. We have seen it repeatedly. This is how you expect the opposition to act; they are acting like the opposition that they are.
“The Labour Party you are talking about has just finished dealing with its own crises. The PDP has not even finished resolving it. So you are left with maybe one or two other parties,” he said.
He stressed that the APC has no reason to be unsettled by the activities of smaller committees or political groupings, adding that the ruling party has the capacity to constitute far-reaching committees involving hundreds of key stakeholders nationwide.
The Governor further noted improvements in security across many parts of the country, though he admitted that challenges remained in a few states.
He said the federal government’s efforts were ongoing and yielding results.
