The Secretary-General of the Delta State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Chinedu James, has been reportedly murdered by suspected assassins.
The attackers also reportedly made away with the cleric’s vehicle after killing him.
Bishop James, who was also the General Overseer of Endtime Reconciliation Ministries in Asaba, was killed on Tuesday in what has been described as a brutal attack.
Although details surrounding the incident remain sketchy, sources said investigations were already underway.
Meanwhile, the Delta PFN has confirmed his killing, describing the incident as tragic and unbelievable.
In a statement on Wednesday by the PFN Director of Press in Delta State, Pastor Malcolm Oteri, on behalf of the state chairman, Bishop Abos Willie, the group called for an urgent investigation and the arrest of those responsible for the attack.
It also disclosed that two persons, including the deceased’s driver, had been arrested by operatives of the Delta State Police Command and were undergoing interrogation.
The PFN called on the Inspector-General of Police to direct a thorough investigation into the incident to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
“The Delta State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has received with shock the news of the brutal killing of its General Secretary, Bishop Chinedu James,” the statement read.
It added that Bishop James, until his death, was the General Overseer of Endtime Reconciliation Ministries in Asaba.
He was reportedly killed on May 12, 2026, by yet-to-be-identified assailants who also made away with his vehicle.
The PFN expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which it said had thrown the entire Christian community in Delta State into mourning.
