A non-governmental organisation (NGO), the Association of Women Living with HIV/AIDS (ASWHAV), has offered a refresher training on behavioural change intervention for about 150 Primary Healthcare (PHC) workers in Kebbi State.
The training, which was funded by Nutrition International, drew the participants from six local government areas of Kebbi State including Birnin Kebbi, Argungu, Augie, Bunza, Maiyama and Gwandu.
Speaking with journalists during the training workshop held yesterday at Conference Hall of the Ministry of Women Affairs in Birnin Kebbi, ASWHAV coordinator in the state, Esther Hindi said the training focused on refreshing the healthcare providers’ behaviour on the norms and values of the family and the society.
She charged the participants to use what they learned for onward delivery to male and female households.
Hindi also commended the Kebbi State government for supporting health activities in the state.
According to her, at the end of the training, female and male households will be reformed by exhibiting new norms and values and providing adequate nutrition to their newborn babies.
