Atalanta manager Ivan Juric has commented on the ongoing transfer saga involving Ademola Lookman, who sought to leave the club earlier this month amid interest from Inter Milan.

Lookman submitted a transfer request, alleging “broken promises” from the club and subsequently missed training to push for his exit.

Juric remarked that the situation reflects the current state of the transfer market, stating, “The Lookman situation is typical of recent transfer markets. These situations punish the fans, while the player and the club prioritise their own interests.”

Since returning to training this week, Lookman has trained separately from his teammates following Inter’s withdrawal from the transfer. He is not expected to feature when Atalanta begins their campaign against newly promoted Pisa on Sunday.
