Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed his administration’s commitment to continue to support the military as well as other security agencies in the state.
He stated this at the 2025 Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration and Wreath-laying Ceremony in Minna, the state capital.
Bago reassured that his administration will continue to collaborate with the military to provide a conducive atmosphere for all the security agencies in the State and enable them to carry out their duties of ensuring the safety of the citizenry’s lives and property.
He noted that the service of those who paid the supreme price with their lives to ensure peace and security in the state and the country at large cannot be overemphasized. He said the state government would continue to support the widows and the widowers for them to have a sense of belonging in the society.
At the event a N50 million cheque was presented to the Niger State Chapter of the Nigerian Legion.
The highpoint of the ceremony was the wreath laying performed by the Farmer Governor, subsequently followed by the speaker, Niger State House of Assembly, represented by his deputy, Mrs Afiniki Dauda, heads of security agencies and the Etsu Nupe and chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alh. Yahaya Abubakar.
Others are the chairman, Nigeria Legion, Niger State Chapter, Alh. Mamuda Ahmed and the representatives of the widows of the fallen heroes, Hajiya Hadiza Tamba.
