Barau Hails Super Falcons’ Historic 10th WAFCON Victory

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Falcons on their historic victory at the 2025 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), on Saturday in Morocco.

Senator Barau, in a statement in Abuja by his Media Adviser, Ismail Mudashir, described the team’s victory as a testament to their resilience, talent, and unwavering national spirit.

The Super Falcons defeated the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco 3-2 in a pulsating final match of the 13th WAFCON, played at the Rabat Olympic Stadium in Morocco, marking Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title.

“I congratulate the Super Falcons, and indeed all Nigerians, on our team’s historic victory at the 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

“This victory is a testament to our players’ resilience, talent, and unyielding national spirit. It is a moment of immense pride and celebration for our nation,” he said.

The Deputy Senate President added that the Super Falcons have once again proven Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.

“The team’s determination, discipline, and passion throughout the tournament are commendable. It inspires a new generation of Nigerian girls to believe in the power of their dreams,” Barau said.

He also commended the coaching crew, the Nigerian Football Federation, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the team.
