A United Kingdom-based Nigerian Journalist, Mr George Onmonya Daniel has called on the lawmaker representing Benue Zone C, Senator Abba Moro to stand up for his constituents amid terrorist threats.

Daniel, in a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday from his London base, doubted the essence of the senator’s representation of the people in view of the killings of his constituents by killer herdsmen.

“I don’t think Senator Abba Moro has represented Benue Zone C well enough as far as the mass murder of people in Zone C by Fulani herdsmen is concerned.

“Few months ago, I spoke to a cousin in Otukpo about these incessant killings, he has stopped going to farm, and has asked me to talk to an uncle to stop going to farm too. Apart from the mass killings, people are being killed in their farms here and there in Idoma land.

“If these terrorists stop our people from farming, they have finished our people. For many, farmiing is the only means of livelihood. Is Senator Abba Moro aware of this?,” he queried.

The publisher of Newissues magazine also lamented how Senator Moro was on television a couple of weeks ago to discuss the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other matters, and not the people being represented in the senate.

“We can no longer tolerate politicians playing politics with the security of our people. Abba Moro should call President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address this Fulani herdsmen mass murder, or he should be ready to be replaced in 2027.

“We need Zone C representative who are in Abuja to represent us, not contractors.

“Being a senator is not all about coming home for burial, sharing rice, and all that, it is standing for the people and ensuring that the people in charge are pressured to take action on their behalf, like the president of the nation.

“Abba Moro is in the opposition party, I am not seeing much opposition here,” he added.

Daniel highlighted that the reelection in 2027 of the Benue lawmaker will depend on how much he stands for his senatorial district over these killings.

He added, “This is not a threat, this is not bluffing, we are tired of weak representation. Wake up!”
