Anglican Bishop of Umuahia Dioceses, Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Ibeabhchi, has tasked President Bola Tinubu on insecurity in the country, saying “there is no more time for excuses.”

Ibeabhchi gave the charge in his address during the second session of 11th synod of the diocese at St Stephen’s Cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State.

“All Nigerians want now is action against the enemies of peace in our land. Currently, no place or location is safe, including military barracks and police stations.

“We appreciate all the government is doing, but request it to do more to ensure that lives and property of citizens are adequately protected,” he said.

The clergyman also called for the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, by the government.

“Please, let him be freed and released. We humbly request the judiciary to do the needful. This will help to unmask those terrorising the South East in the name of the Eastern Security Network,” he added.

He commended Governor Alex Otti for the activities of the state government under his leadership, noting that the people appreciate God for the “gift of Otti and his team in a time like this.”

“We’re impressed with your leadership style and development strides. We can only pray that God will help you to remain focused and undistracted,” the bishop added.

The diocesan synod planning committee chairman, Chukwunyere Elekwachi in a remark described the synod as a huge success and returned the glory to God Almighty.
