Rivers United head coach, Stanley Eguma insisted his team is in a buoyant mood ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup matchday four encounter against Club Africain of Tunisia on Wednesday.The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side contingent consisting of players and officials arrived in Tunis on Monday morning ahead of the match as they hope to consolidate on their 1-0 win in the first leg of the fixtures fortnight ago in Uyo. Eguma hinted that his players are fired up for Wednesday’s encounter.
“The spirit in camp now is high. The team is in a winning mood. I think that the spirit of winning is also high. It will play a huge role in the game with Club Africain in Tunis,” Eguma said ahead of the game.
Rivers United are jointly topping group C with Club Africain on six points with the same goals scored and conceded. Meanwhile, in another tie up north, Egypt’s Modern Future welcome USM Alger who have been in fine form as they look to defend their title.
The Algerian giants have collected maximum points in all their three matches, boasting clean sheets in all their encounters and will be looking at maintaining this impressive run.
