Citizens Should Use Differences To Develop Nigeria – Okure

A professor of Scripture, Rev Sr. Teresa Okure has called on Nigerians to use their differences to grow and develop the country and not fight one another.

Okure made the call during the weekend in Kaduna at the annual General Assembly of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna.

She said some Nigerians brought division to derail them, noting that their differences are like flowers in God’s garden and it is a blessing from God.

Okure who also spoke on the theme: “Dignity and Mission of Women in the Church” said, “Human beings are at war with itself, we are first human beings before religion, therefore we should show love to one another irrespective of our differences.”

The coordinator of Talitha Cumi in the northern Nigeria, Rev Sr. Monica Onwunali lamented the increase in human trafficking and child labour in Nigeria, saying that there is urgent need to create forum where youths can be empowered.

“Nigerian girls are doing prostitution in Ghana, we should create youths’ forum where youths can be empowered. We want everybody to get up and fight this menace.

“Our youths should not wait for collar jobs any more, they should learn skills and trade so that they can survive, am pleading with the youth to be patient with themselves,” she said.

Earlier, the chairperson of Dignity of Women, Archdiocese of Kaduna, Mrs Paulina Nuhu Goni urged men to support women to build a better society.
