Youth in the country have been called upon on to develop interest in sporting activities with a view to showcasing their talents for national development.
The National President of a political pressure group” Omodoko rescue Movement for Muri Abenemi 2023″ Comrade Hassan Obaka made the call at media briefing in Abuja ahead of Muri Unity football competition schedule to take place next month kogi state.
He noted that aside the employment opportunity which sporting activities could provide, it played significant roles in enhancing good health and recreation, it also served as means through which nefarious activities of social miscreants could be reduced in the society.
According Comrade Obaka the competition was designed to promote unity among younger ones for overall interest of kogi State.
Comrade Obaka who commended retired Colonel Suleiman Babanawa who was the founder of Babanawa football club for making some of the youth to discovered their talent in the country stressed the need for stakeholders to always expose the youth to sports which will go along way to encourage development of sports in kogi state and the nation at large.
Omodoko rescue Movement for Muri Abenemi 2023 expressed confidence on Social democratic party Candidate in the forthcoming Governorship election in Kogi state Alhaji Murtala Ajaka that if elected he focus more on youth empowerment particularly in the area of sport activities which remain a major mechanism to cultivate young persons, mitigate youth restiveness, create jobs and promote healthy living among citizens.
The Group assured participants cut across 21 local government of the state of a peaceful and exciting games, adding that adequate arrangements have been made for hitch-free excercise.
