He stated this in a goodwill message to commemorate democracy day on June 12, 2024.

In a statement by the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brig-Gen Tukur Gusau, the CDS said the AFN remains dedicated to supporting and strengthening democracy for the benefit of all Nigerians. He said the AFN shall continue to collaborate with national and subnational institutions to entrench constitutional governance.

General Musa acknowledged the sacrifices made by Armed Forces members in various theatres of operation nationwide and urged military personnel to uphold the tenets of democracy, safeguard citizens’ rights, and ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all.

General Musa also appealed to all Nigerians to remain positive about the challenges and support the AFN in the fight against terrorism and criminality, adding that “victory is in sight.”
