Majority leader in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon Saleh Hodi Jibrin, has hailed Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for the moral support given to him, which culminated in his tremendous achievements as a legislator in the past six years of his second term tenure in the House.

He explained that without the support of the government and Governor Bala Mohammed, he wouldn’t have achieved such a remarkable feat in those years of legislative duties serving the people in Disina state constituency in Shira local government area of Bauchi state.

Hon. Saleh Hodi Disina, who was briefing the press yesterday at NUJ secretariat, Bauchi, about his services to the Shira local government communities that fall within his constituency, recalled that he pushed for the construction of 2.6km during his tenure as a lawmaker, which brought to an end the decades-long flooding devastating the people of Disina town.

The lawmaker further recalled that flood devastation had been the monster posing life threats to the people of Disina way before he was born. Efforts by successive administrations since Bauchi State was created in 1976 could not yield positive results until the advent of the Governor Bala Mohammed administration, when a solution was found.

Disina said, “In fact, I have no words on my tongue to express my gratitude to the Governor Bala-led administration for that exceptional achievement, which brought to an end the decades-old suffering of the Disina people during rainy seasons. I thumped up for the governor and his government for coming to the rescue of my people.”

Lawmaker Saleh Hodi Disina also outlined some of his achievements in the past six years since his election in 2019 to represent the people in the State Legislative House which included the spending of over N46 million in the reactivation of over 100 boreholes across his constituency, and the personal expenditure of over N86 million as project execution and relief assistance.

He enumerated the areas of expenditure, which included assistance in giving marriages to tens of daughters of poor parents, renovation of houses devastated by floods over the years, scholarship awards, drainage construction, building of primary healthcare centres and clinics, and economic empowerment of the people, among others.

Disina also commended the state legislature for passing into law 32 bills, 16 of which were assented to by Governor Bala Mohammed, while many are in the pipeline with various house committees, as well as the passage of 86 motions that provided social services such as electricity supply and agricultural inputs provision, among others.
