Economic Advancement: Group Urges Govt/Private Sector To Invest ln Youths

Government at all levels have been enjoined to invest in the youths as they can rise up to the occasion of growing the economy of the Nigeria.

To compliment this, it was agreed that there is need for private, government sectors partnership in order to develop models of market relevance.

The executive director, Partnership Initiative in the Niger Delta, (PIND), Mr Tunji ldowu stated in Asaba during a summit organised for young professionals across the Niger Delta and beyond.

There were 35 mentors and 300 mentees in the helping the young to build the young within the opportunities available summit.

He said that government at all levels must tap into the potentials of youths as they have the capacity to reinvigorate the nations dwindling economy occasioned by a death in new ideas and innovations.

While asserting that the summit was organised in a bid to showcase the talents that abound in the Nigerian youths, he said it would equally provide the platform for them to attain their dreams and aspirations through their ingenious inventions and business models.

“The youths who are about 70 per cent of the nations population have the wherewithal to transform the economy. To stop vices, we must get them engaged to channel their energies into production”

The advocacy manager of PIND, Mr Chuks Ofolue, the Chief Executive Officer, Unboxed, organisers of young professionals summit, Mr Wale Adenuga, as well as the program manager, young professionals, Mr Patrick Ekpe, said the summit was aimed at exposing the young graduates and professionals on the need to engage their talents as well as getting exposed to the national and international communities.

The summit featured presentation of cheques to young professionals with the best business models which saw Miss Chinese Abujai, home cleaner and undergraduate of Delta State University, Abraka, as well as Mr Chigozie Solomon, fashion designer, among two others that emerged winners.
