Smile Attracts Smiles Foundation has in the spirit of Christmas, presented rice, condiments and cash gifts to widows in Abuja, Plateau and Osun states.
The founder, Mrs Bukola Adewumi, said the gesture aimed to lighten their burdens in the face of challenges.
Mrs Adewumi, represented by the programmes coordinator, Ms Oyelade Serah Oyenike, said the foundation was borne out of her personal story and passion to make a difference.
“Growing up, I witnessed my mother navigate life as a widow. I watched her carry responsibilities meant for two shoulders on her own. Through her strength, I learned that no challenge is too great when faced with courage, faith, and the support of others.
“Her resilience shaped my heart, and her journey ignited my calling.
I firmly believe that God has entrusted me with this mission to stand in the gap for widows, just as He promises in His Word not to abandon those in need,”.
She reiterated the foundations’ commitment to year-round outreach, ensuring continuous support for widows through such programs.
“At Smile Attracts Smiles Foundation, we understand that the journey of widowhood is not an easy one. The challenges can feel overwhelming, and at times the weight may seemunbearable.
But please hear this clearly today, you are not alone. We are here to walk this journey with you, hand in hand and heart to heart,” she said.
Mrs Adewumi described the beneficiaries as “ warriors, survivors, and a living testament to the power of faith, perseverance, and inner strength,”.
She added that the 2025 Christmas widow outreach was a special moment of love and remembrance.
