Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA) has said all 17 of its academic programmes that underwent the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation exercise in October/November 2023 have attained full accreditation status, valid for the next five years.
The accreditation results were communicated to the vice chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, in a letter dated June 6, 2024. The letter, signed
by Engr. Abraham Chundusu, acting director of accreditation, listed the accredited programmes on behalf of the executive secretary of the NUC.
In a bulletin from the school, the accreditation is conducted periodically by the NUC to evaluate the level of compliance with its established Minimum Academic Standards for all academic programmes in Nigerian universities.
According to the University Bulletin, the courses that attain full accreditation are Architecture, Information and Media Technology Education, Education Biology, Education Chemistry, Education Mathematics, Computer Engineering.
Others were Food Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, Applied Geophysics, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
The university authority said the achievement underscores FUTMINNA’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and providing quality education.
