The Gender Education, Engagement, Empowerment, and Entrepreneurship Programme (G4EP) has said that it was preparing Nigerian girls to rise above limitations.

Speaking at the launch of the RISE Digital Training initiative designed by G4EP to equip young girls across Nigeria with creative and digital skills in Abuja on Monday, chairman of G4EP, Judith Ogbara, said the project represents inclusion, empowerment, and opportunity.

The opening day of the training was attended by the SSA to the President on ICT, and SSA to the President on Students Engagement, Sunday Asefon, who was the chief host of the event, among other guests.

According to Ogbara, the programme will train 100 girls over the course of one month under G4EP’s flagship project, Renewed Hope for Inclusion, Support, and Empowerment (RISE) which she said aligns with the President Bola Tinubu’s government’s Renewed Hope aAenda.

“By providing access to in-demand creative and digital skills, the programme is designed to foster inclusion and create real opportunities for girls to thrive in today’s tech-driven world, ensuring that no one is left behind,” Ogbara stated.

The training will focus on four areas: Photography, Web Design, Cinematography, and Graphic Design, skills described as “powerful tools” in the modern creative and digital economy.

According to G4EP chairman, the free training was aimed at breaking barriers that often limit the girl-child’s growth. “In today’s world, digital literacy and creativity open doors to limitless opportunities,” the initiative lead said.

A major highlight of the initiative is that both registration and training are completely free of charge, ensuring that girls from all backgrounds have equal access to world-class training and mentorship.

“The RISE project is about inclusion, empowerment, and creating pathways for the girl child to rise above limitations. Through this training, we are preparing girls to compete globally in technology, creativity, and entrepreneurship,” she said.

Ogbara further stressed that the programme was a reflection of G4EP’s long-term commitment to empowering girls across Nigeria.

“With this initiative, G4EP continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to the empowerment of girls in Nigeria. By equipping them with creative and digital skills, the program is shaping a new generation of storytellers, innovators, and entrepreneurs who will leave their mark on the world,” she added.

The organisers disclosed that selected participants would benefit from mentorship, practical sessions, and access to industry-standard resources throughout the training.
