Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has approved N2.11 billion for the immediate payment of gratuities and death benefits to 772 state and contract staff, as well as retirees from the Local Government Service and Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs).

The governor’s approval was contained in a statement signed by the head of Service, Malami Shekare, issued through his director of Administration, Rashidu Muhammad Bala, to journalists in Birnin Kebbi, yesterday.

The statement stressed that the approval underscored Governor Idris’ commitment to improving the welfare of workers, especially retirees and the families of deceased public servants, by ensuring the timely settlement of their benefits.

It added that 772 beneficiaries will receive the payments, covering gratuities and death benefits for state and contract staff, as well as personnel from the Local Government Service and Local Government Education Authorities, for the period between September 16, 2025 and January 15, 2026.
