A group under the platform of Plateau Citizens of Good Conscience (PCGC) has stated that the state governor, Barr Caleb Mutfwang, is a proud and unrepentant member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The spokesman of the group, David Obadiah stated this while speaking with newsmen in Jos, the Plateau state capital.

According to him, Governor Mutfwang has never sought refuge in the Plateau APC, nor has he entertained the thought of joining the very party that he said “dragged Plateau backward through incompetence and deceit.

“At this critical juncture in our state’s political journey, we feel compelled to address an alarming wave of misinformation being peddled by certain elements within the opposition party.

“We do so in defence of the remarkable progress being made under the transformational leadership of our people’s governor, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, whose governance over the last two years has been defined by resilience, purposeful development, and people-centred policies.”

Obadiah further stated that it is not surprising that certain people within the opposition, disguising themselves under names such as Plateau APC Vanguard and a fictitious group dubbed Plateau State PDP Frontiers, have emerged with concocted narratives to misinform Plateau people on the progress already made by the governor.

“These individuals, lacking any known PDP membership or credibility, are being used as pawns in a desperate campaign against the governor.

“Their recent outbursts and false claims about the performance of Governor Mutfwang are a clear sign of panic, frustration, and political irrelevance.

He further stressed that they are visibly demoralised and disoriented, stranded in the wilderness of opposition politics while the PDP government steadily leads Plateau State to greater heights.

The group further maintained that one of their most laughable claims is that the Plateau APC has “rejected” Governor Mutfwang’s alleged attempt to join their party.
