In line with his campaign promises, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has banned trading on Suleja-Madalla Road

He said yesterday that anyone found selling along the Suleja-Madalla Road would be arrested and prosecuted for breaking a law.

The governor, who insisted that the road is no longer a trading post or market centre for anyone, maintained that cars parked along the road would be impounded/confiscated to serve as deterrent to defaulters.

Governor Bago gave this directive as his second executive order upon assumption of office when he addressed the people in the area yesterday.

He said the goal was to ensure that traffic was not disrupted on the road where Madalla Market is situated.

Consequently, the governor said plans were underway to relocate the market to a nearby location.
