A group operating under the auspices of Recognise Etulo has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, describing them as “transformative leaders” whose socioeconomic reform is transforming Nigeria’s governance system with positive narratives.

The group has also said it has backed President Tinubu’s second-term aspiration to enable him to continue laying a solid socioeconomic foundation for Nigeria.

The Convener of Recognise Etulo, Ebe Yohanna-Ebe, made the statement in a chat with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, while also calling on Nigerians to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu presidency.

The group particularly praised Akume for his recent brilliant outing in Kaduna, where he defended the achievements of the Tinubu administration and advised the North to support Tinubu for a second term until 2031.

“The president is a reformer and the SGF coordinates the implementation of the reforms as policies and programmes of government, and he has demonstrated competence, experience, skills, and most especially, loyalty to the president and the nation,” he stated.

The group said Akume is a statesman and one of the founding members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) who has made several sacrifices for the unity and stability of the party and the nation with diligence, transparency, and unwavering patriotism.

“We are throwing our weight behind Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 because he is poised to lift more Nigerians out of poverty, further stabilise the economy and secure the territorial integrity of the country,” he said.

Yohanna-Ebe echoed the SGF’s position, saying, “The reform of the present government is working. The Tinubu government has significantly restored peace to many troubled states and regions through security architecture re-engineering.

“Food inflation is gradually coming down as a result of strategic policy intervention of the Tinubu administration.”

Akume had remarked last Tuesday in Kaduna at a two-day Interactive Season on Government-citizens’ Engagement with the theme “Assessing Electoral Promises: Fostering Government-citizens’ Engagement for National Unity’, organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, stated that: “Tinubu has laid a foundation stone for New Nigeria through visionary leadership and commitment to bring dividends of democracy to all citizens and regions of the country without bias.”

The convener of Recognize Etulo, who is also the Creative Director, Grey Moustache Fashion, said, “Nigerians are fully convinced that the president is laying a solid foundation for a prosperous and better future for Nigeria through strategic reforms, a feat that the members of the mixed multitude called ‘coalition’ who once occupied public offices could not achieve.”

According to him, Nigerians know better now that no amount of “negative and toxic narrative” by disgruntled politicians to blackmail Tinubu can deceive voters in 2027.

He stated further that, “The conglomerate of failed and desperate politicians that now seeks to take power from Tinubu caused the mess the president has been trying to fix. Tinubu is taking hard decisions on socio economic reforms with far-reaching outcomes for Nigeria and future generations, though the beginning may not be cheap.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man of foresight and forthrightness, a leader who represents an idea whose time has come for this nation. His bold economic reforms in the oil sector, such as the removal of the criminal fuel subsidy regime, fiscal policy restructuring, creative and pragmatic empowerment programmes, and education via the students’ loan scheme, are hard steps but the only way to build a better future for the next generations.

“Nigerians believe in Mr. President’s reforms more than ever before. Mr. President is revolutionising social and governance structure in the country with massive legacy highways across the country, creation of regional development commissions, a new Federal Ministry of Livestock to address the herders-farmers conflicts and unlock multi-billion naira livestock production and its value chains, creating more universities and other tertiary institutions for our fast-growing population.

“This is apart from the breathtaking infrastructural transformation of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, by the minister, Nyesom Wike.”

The group described Tinubu as a “God-hearted and God-sent leader” to Nigeria at such a time, who is transforming the country’s investment landscape, easing the doing business with the recent signing into law of the Tax Reform Bills.
