Gunmen Kill Policeman, Civilian ln Delta

Gunmen killed a policeman and a civilian early Friday along Ugbolu Mile 5 Road, Oshimili North local government area of Delta State.

The scene of the crime is few kilometres away from the 63 Brigade Nigerian Army headquarters, Asaba.

Locals in the area alleged that two persons were killed by some unknown gunmen who kept shooting into the air shouting that elections must not hold in Biafra territory.

While the locals described one of the victims as an officer of the law and the other a civilian, the Delta State police command confirmed the death of one person.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident in a telephone conversation said only one body was seen at the scene of crime as against rumours of two dead bodies.

Bright while confirming the incident, noted that details behind the killing of the unidentified man was still sketchy and investigations were still ongoing.
