The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested six women and three men for allegedly organising a party tagged “Farewell to Satan” ahead of the Ramadan fasting period.
The Deputy Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen, disclosed this to journalists in the state.
Aminuddeen said the suspects organised a casual party over the weekend and invited some controversial musicians known for promoting immoral acts to perform at the event, which they claimed was meant to bid farewell to the devil or satan before the commencement of holy month of Ramadan fasting on February 18, 2026.
He stated that the action contravened moral standards and existing laws in Kano State.
The deputy commander-general added that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
He further called on members of the public to remain vigilant and report any activity that violates moral values or the law to the authorities.
