“How People Trolled Me On My 1st  Anniversary Because Of My Teeth, Said I Was 10 Years Older Than My Husband” – Blessing Obasi

‎‎Nollywood actress Blessing Obasi has bared her mind on how she survived online trolling after her marriage to her younger colleague, Stan Nze.

‎‎Speaking in a recent interview, she recalled how she was body-shamed and mocked over her appearance while celebrating her first anniversary. According to her, she was mercilessly dragged over her teeth, and trolls told her to stop laughing in public.

‎“I was dragged on my first wedding anniversary because of my teeth. Trolls told me to stop laughing publicly because of my dentition”.

‎‎Blessing revealed that when Stan first posted her photo online, many questioned their relationship, claiming she looked ten years older than him. Some even expressed the belief that they were only acting because they couldn’t believe he would marry her.

‎‎“When my husband posted my picture for the first time, people said I was 10 years older than him. They also said it was a movie because they didn’t believe he would actually marry me”.

‎‎She added that her husband was also affected by the online narratives, as a comment he made during an interview was taken out of context and misrepresented.

‎‎She said despite the criticism, she remained focused on her marriage and has chosen not to be defined by online opinions.

‎‎“My husband granted an interview one time; his words were twisted on social media”.

‎‎In a 2024 interview, Blessing opened up about the stigma of late marriage, revealing that it was a choice. She noted that the world often equates a woman’s worth with her marital status, and she admonished her fans to take their time, walk their own path, and embrace it.

‎‎That wasn’t the first time the movie star had addressed her late marriage. In 2022, Blessing Obasi stated that when it comes to matters of the heart, age is just a number.

‎‎In the interview, she revealed that she never thought she would end up marrying her colleague because she thought men in the entertainment industry were unfaithful, but her husband proved her wrong.

‎‎Blessing Obasi is happily married to her younger colleague, Stan Nze, and the couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, in 2023.

‎‎In September 2022, Blessing and Stan hinted at marital troubles after they stirred controversy on their first anniversary.
