Within a remarkably short period, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Michael Eshioronoya Olorunfemi Sado, the Okuokpellagbe of Okpella in Etsako East local government area of Edo State, has emerged an inspiring, visionary and accountable leader.

As peace lover and a transformation agent, he has united the people and scale up socioeconomic activities.

Since ascending the revered throne, he has also breathed new life into the mineral-rich Kingdom of Okpella, prioritising the welfare of the people above personal interest.

These have ushered in a new era of aggressive infrastructural, economic and social development.

A compassionate and forward-looking monarch, HRM Sado has demonstrated that true royalty is measured not merely by the crown or stool occupied, but by the lives touched.

He symbolises humility and courage with unwavering devotion to lifting the community, which has suffered neglect in social and economic infrastructure.

Sado has strengthened unity among traditional leaders, worked with local and state governments and corporate organisations in the community, hosting major cement companies and ancillary industries.

A very striking aspect of his leadership is ensuring that Okpella’s wealth translates into tangible benefits for the people.

Under his reign, major infrastructure projects, including roads, healthcare facilities, boreholes, markets and community development initiatives, have continued to flourish through strategic partnerships with the companies operating in Okpella. His Majesty has personally supervised these projects, reflecting his commitment to accountability and excellence.

Recognising that peace is the bedrock of progress, the Okuokpellagbe has invested heavily in community security. His administration established a Vigilante Headquarters Complex, procured a surveillance drone for intelligence gathering, championed the creation of a Police Area Command and provided critical support to security agencies. These bold initiatives have restored confidence among his subjects and investors.

His achievements also extend to economic empowerment and education. The establishment of Okpella Finance Limited (Okpella Microfinance Bank) has expanded financial inclusion, while the Okpella Revenue Mobilisation Committee has strengthened community resource management.

Through 400 scholarship opportunities, His Majesty has opened doors for young Okpella sons and daughters to pursue higher education for a brighter future.

The Okuokpellagbe also demonstrated proactive leadership when BUA Cement disengaged 400 trailer drivers. Through direct engagement with the company’s chairman, he facilitated their reinstatement, safeguarding the livelihoods of hundreds of families.

The monarch also harmonised community agreements with major cement companies and commenced the centralisation and construction of the Royal Palace, a lasting symbol of unity and the enduring dignity of the Okuokpellagbe institution.

Born on January 7, 1981, HRM Michael Sado combines an impressive academic background in Economics and Financial Economics with extensive professional certifications in leadership, governance and finance.

Beyond the throne, he is an accomplished entrepreneur, estate developer and philanthropist whose passion for community development long predates his coronation.
