Hydrangea House has emerged champions of the 2024 Noble Hall Leadership Academy for Girls’ inter-house sports competition.
The competition, which took place at the academy’s Idu Campus Sports Complex, Abuja, saw a thrilling contest of athleticism and team spirit with Hydrangea House topping the medal table with a remarkable 131 points.
Tulip House finished second on the medal log with 117 points, while Iris House and Dehlia House settled for third and fourth spot with 116 and 101 points respectively.
The event was graced by a significant turnout of dignitaries, parents, and enthusiasts from various sectors, all gathered to support the participants in a vibrant display of sportsmanship.
The principal of Noble Hall Leadership Academy for Girls, Ashish Gill, stressed the integral role of sports and physical education in the curriculum, highlighting their importance in nurturing the students’ inherent talents.
Gill lauded the competitors for their exceptional talent, sportsmanship, and team spirit displayed across various sports, including basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, and track events.
A member of the parent council, Samaila Idi Ado, lauded the teachers for their dedication and also appreciated the parents and sponsors for their support.
Ado remarked on the significance of team spirit in fostering collaboration and motivation among students towards achieving shared objectives.
He also pointed out the notable academic achievements of the students, attributing their success to the holistic education approach of the academy.
The sports prefect and a member of Tulip House, Asma’u Abubakar Meidama, shared her joy in winning the 100 meters race and her house’s second-place finish in the march past.
Meidama noted that enthusiasm for sports and the joy it brings to participants and spectators alike underscored the event’s success in promoting happiness and well-being through physical activity.
“I feel really happy because sports is something that I have always enjoyed doing and just being a part of it makes me really happy and just seeing other people be happy about it also makes me really happy,” she said.
