Nigerian music legend Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has officially shut down any lingering hopes for a reunion of the iconic early 2000s group, Plantashun Boiz.
Speaking during a radio interview with veteran media personality Steve Onu (Yaw), the “African Queen” singer clarified his stance as he prepares to celebrate his landmark 25th year in the music industry. Despite the group’s massive influence on modern Afro-pop, 2Baba stated that he has firmly moved past that chapter of his career.
“Other members of the group can go ahead, but as for me, I’m not interested,” the singer declared. “I have no beef with anyone, but as for me, it’s not going to happen. I have moved on.”
The Plantashun Boiz, consisting of 2Baba, Blackface, and Faze, became a household name with hits that defined an era before their highly publicised split. While fans have spent years calling for a final joint project or performance, 2Baba’s comments suggest the trio’s story has reached its definitive end.
