JUST IN: INEC Suspends Election In Locations In Kogi State

As governorship election gets underway in Kogi State on Saturday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reacted to reports of pre-recorded result sheets in two local government areas of the state, saying its top officials were ivestigating the development.

Taking to its verified X handle (former Twitter), the electoral umpire said it viewed the situation with all seriousness.

“Our attention has been drawn to a report that filled result sheets were discovered in some polling units in Kogi State.

“The Commission views this situation seriously.

“Our senior officials deployed to the State are currently investigating the incident(s). The Commission will communicate its decision earnestly,” INEC wrote.
