The committee’s inaugural meeting brought together key stakeholders from relevant ministries, agencies, and institutions. The committee is mandated to coordinate and monitor compliance with consent procedures related to mining operations across the state.

Discussions during the maiden session focused on setting clear objectives, defining roles, and establishing a framework for collaborative engagement. Members reaffirmed their commitment to upholding best practices in community engagement, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance in line with both federal and state laws.

The Kaduna State Government has reiterated its dedication to ensuring that mining activities are carried out transparently, sustainably, and with due regard to the rights and interests of host communities.

The committee is expected to play a pivotal role in harmonizing consent processes and supporting the state’s broader goals of attracting responsible investment in the solid minerals sector.
