Kaduna State government has asked media practitioners to support its drive for the development of the state.
The appeal was made by the principal private secretary to the governor, Professor Bello Ayuba, at an interaction with reporters at the Bauchi Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre at the weekend.
Ayuba said the Governor Uba Sani-led administration is poised to entrench socio-economic growth and development in the state.
He said that a significant part of the 2024 budget had been earmarked for capital projects across the state.
The principal private secretary said the role of media professionals in heralding development cannot be over emphasised, hence the need for journalists to professionally contribute to the development of the state.
He warned journalists not to be mischievous in their reportage, adding that there are always positive alternatives available to correct a government.
Ayuba, a former sales representative with New Nigerian Newspapers in charge of the North East, said Governor Sani had not bought new official cars since his assumption of office. “He uses the cars left behind by his predecessor,” he said.
He said Sani is determined to channel available resources towards improving the living conditions of electorates in Kaduna who entrusted him with their mandate to serve them.
