The State’s Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Makoda, made this known while briefing journalists in the state.

Dr Makoda explained that the state was sponsoring all eligible indigenous candidates from public schools who scored at least five credits from the SSQE.

“A total of 141,715 candidates from public schools under Kano Education Resource Department (KERD), the Science Board, and Arabic and Islamic Education Department (AIED) sat for the exams with over 75% qualified for state sponsorship,” he stated.

According to him, the initiative will cost the state over N3billion, and was part of the State government’s aggressive efforts to enhance educational access, promote academic excellence, and reduce financial burdens on families across the state, especially the vulnerable.
