Governor Umaru Radda made this announcement during a two-day workshop aimed at strengthening the criminal justice system in the state.

Governor Radda emphasised that the amendment seeks to ensure more effective punishment for those aiding banditry and kidnapping, as part of the state’s ongoing reforms in criminal justice administration.

He also highlighted recent efforts, including the establishment of a Sexual Assault Referral Centre and a Gender-Based Violence Centre, as well as the enactment of the Violence Against Persons Law.

The governor urged workshop participants to fully utilize the training, which aims to improve the state’s capacity to maintain justice, protect individual rights, and address challenges in the legal system.
