The first batch of intending pilgrims from Kwara State will be airlifted from Babatunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin to Saudi Arabia on May 20, 2024.
The executive secretary of Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, disclosed this in Ilorin yesterday.
A total of 3,102 people will be performing this year’s hajj from the state.
Abdulkadir made the disclosure during an enlightenment programme organised for the intending pilgrims in Ilorin.
He said the intending pilgrims would be vaccinated and collect their luggage on Tuesday.
Chairman of the board, Prof. Mashood Mahmud-Jimba, enjoined the intending pilgrims to prepare for the challenges that might arise at the Saudi Arabia and see them as parts of their worship.
He advised them to desist from unruly behaviour before, during and after the operation so that they can have full reward from Allah.
Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen advised the intending pilgrims to perform hajj with fear of Allah.
