The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has foiled a terrorist assault on troops’ location in Rann, Borno State and eliminated scores of fleeing insurgents.
A statement by the NAF spokesman Air Cdre Ehimen Ejodame in Abuja yesterday said the Air Force under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in the early hours of yesterday foiled the attack through coordinated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Air Interdiction (AI) missions.
According to the statement, the OPHK air component acting on credible intelligence established contact with ground forces, identified clusters of fleeing insurgents and engaged them with precision munitions, neutralising several in the process.
The swift and decisive action restored calm in the area, underscoring the NAF’s unwavering commitment to providing close air support, safeguarding troops and rapidly neutralising insurgent threats, he said.
