The Oklahoma City Thunder are on the verge of another Western Conference Finals appearance after a commanding 131-108 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, giving them a significant lead in the play-offs.
The Lakers now face the immense challenge of becoming the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-0 deficit.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander contributed 23 points and nine assists for the top-seeded Thunder. However, teammate Ajay Mitchell was more accurate from the field, adding 24 points and 10 assists.
For the Lakers, 41-year-old LeBron James scored 19 points but was not at his best. The team, still without the injured Luka Doncic, struggled to contain the dominant Thunder in what has been a one-sided series.
Last year’s NBA champions, the Thunder, continue to look like the team to beat. Gilgeous-Alexander achieved his highest scoring game of the series despite a slow start, missing nine of his first 11 shots. His play-off form has been slightly below his regular season average of 31.1 points per game.
