NGO Strengthens Ties With Kaduna Govt, Others On Peace Building

A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Community Impact Affinity (CIA), has reiterated its commitment toward working with the Kaduna State government and security agencies to enhance the security of life and property for the development of the state.

The founding chairman and CEO of CIA, Wilson Babangida-Agboti, gave the indication during separate meetings with the Kaduna State attorney-general and commissioner for Justice, James Kanyip, chairman of Kaduna South local government area, Hon. Rayyan Hussain and some security chiefs.

During their interaction, both Agboti and Kanyip emphasised the critical role of justice and the rule of law in strengthening security architecture and promoting sustainable development.

The chairman presented a plaque of recognition and decorated the Attorney General with an emblem, symbolising partnership for community resilience.

Also at the interface with the Kaduna South local government chairman, both parties stressed the need for strategic partnerships in capacity building and the implementation of sustainable development initiatives aimed at driving growth and development within the state.

Receiving the CIA delegation led by Agboti, the Commander, Nigeria Police Operation Fushin Kada, Kaduna who was represented by Ibrahim Dauda, applauded the NGO’s impactful role in promoting national security, peacebuilding, and community development initiatives.

Also, at a meeting with the Commander of the Kaduna State Vigilante Service and immediate past Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State, Ali Audu, the CIA team  proposed a “train-the-trainer” capacity development programme for 30 senior officers of the vigilante with a focus on security intelligence, information management and community-based security strategies.

Speaking with journalists after the engagements, Agboti, a defence consultant working closely with the Nigerian defence industry, reaffirmed the commitment of the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa to combating insecurity and fostering a stable and secure Nigeria.

Highlight of the three-day visit was a round table meeting of CIA members and staff in Kaduna State, where roadmaps were defined and strategic approaches agreed upon for implementing sustainable projects to strengthen institutional capacity in the state.
