Onne Community is the host to the Federal Ocean Terminal (FOC) and Federal Lighter Terminal (FLT) and several multinational corporations, who are key players in the oil and gas sector.

The sensitisation exercise, which was held at the Onne Town Hall, was in line with the ongoing nationwide enlightenment campaign against irregular migration with the theme: “Say No To Migrants Smuggling”.

Speaking during the exercise, Comptroller of Immigration, Rivers Marine Command, Akinyemi Johnson Olusola, said the aim of the exercise was to enlighten the public on the crime and dangers associated with this unlawful adventure.

Olusola, who explained the dangers of irregular migration and the effects to individuals and families, also outlined the legitimate ways of migration if one must migrate.
