Kebbi State government has dismissed a video clip widely circulated on social media platforms by one Mohammed Al-Amin of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Dandi local government area in which he alleged that a teacher, Comrade Abduljalal Usman Kamba, was suspended and his salary stopped because he rejected the content of palliatives given to him.
The special adviser on Communication and Strategy to the Governor, Abdullahi Idris Zuru, dismissed the allegation in a statement he issued to journalists in Birnin Kebbi yesterday.
He described the claim as a stage-managed drama by opposition groups in order to tarnish the image of the government of Governor Nasir Idris.
Zuru said investigations revealed that the teacher who rejected the content of the palliatives in Dandi local government was a certified lunatic whose action was manipulated in a clip by the desperate opposition to diminish the support of the governor in the area.
He made it clear that since the beginning of Ramadan government has distributed mega palliatives consisting of bags of rice, millet, maize and guinea corn as well as farm inputs to million of people across the state to cushion the effect of hardship during Ramadan period.
He further noted that no amount of blackmail will stop the Kaura-led administration’s commitment to the execution of meaningful developmental projects as well as assisting the vulnerable in the society.
