The North-East chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term in the 2027 general elections.
This declaration of support was made on Sunday during the North-East APC Consultative Meeting held in Gombe, the capital of Gombe State. The event brought together key party stakeholders from across the region, including three sitting governors: Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, and Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe.
In a show of unity and political alignment, the leaders praised the Tinubu administration’s performance since assuming office in May 2023, particularly under the “Renewed Hope” agenda, which they described as laying the foundation for sustainable development across the country.
Governor Zulum, in his remarks, highlighted notable strides in areas such as healthcare, education, youth and women empowerment, infrastructure renewal, revenue generation, and national security. He stressed that the administration’s efforts have begun yielding tangible benefits and argued that continuity was essential to consolidating the gains made.
“The Renewed Hope agenda is not just a slogan—it is a visible, transformative reality. We believe that continuity of leadership in 2027 will deepen national unity and development,” Zulum stated.
The meeting also featured remarks from the APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and the Deputy National Chairman (North), Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori. Both commended the North-East leadership for standing firmly with the party and promoting unity within its ranks.
Party stakeholders called on Nigerians across the six geo-political zones to rally behind the Tinubu/Shettima ticket, citing their commitment to inclusive governance and economic stability.
The endorsement marks one of the earliest formal expressions of regional backing for the APC’s expected 2027 presidential bid, setting the tone for political alignment within the party ahead of the next general elections.
