Kun Khalifat FC’s chairman, Michelle Amaefula, has issued a defiant pledge that the club will continue to battle relentlessly for their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) status, despite sitting at the bottom of the table.
The Owerri-based outfit has recently shown signs of a revival, securing two consecutive victories in their fight to escape relegation. However, with only 39 points so far, they remain rooted to last place in the NPFL standings.
In an emotional address to the squad, Amaefula praised his players for their resilience and recent upturn in form, especially after a spell plagued by injuries that threatened to undo all their hard work.
“As of last week, we would have lost everything we have laboured for, with injuries to some of our players,” Amaefula told the team.
“I will continue to celebrate you all, my players. What will happen will definitely happen, but I can assure you that we will remain in the NPFL.”
His words underscore a refusal to give up, as the club stares down a difficult path to safety.
With the season approaching its climax, every remaining match is now a final for Kun Khalifat, and Amaefula’s confidence is a clear message that the fight for survival is far from over.
