NutriSelect Pure, an organic mineral fertiliser, has won the award for Best Fertiliser for Organic Farm Yields and Organic Food Production at the Aso 2026 Prestigious Awards.

The event recognised its contributions to agricultural development, sustainability and food security in Nigeria.

The award was announced at the Aso 2026 Prestigious Awards, attended by policymakers, agribusiness stakeholders, farmers’ organisations and representatives of the agricultural value chain.

NutriSelect Pure is a certified organic fertiliser developed to improve soil health and crop nutrition in organic farming systems.

Information presented at the event indicates that the product meets EU Organic certification standards and approval from the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), making it suitable for regulated organic production.

According to the event organisers, the recognition focused on the fertiliser’s contribution to improving organic farm yields, its role in supporting safe and traceable organic food production and relevance to Nigeria’s efforts to expand sustainable agriculture.

Agricultural analysts have noted that the growing adoption of certified organic inputs is becoming increasingly crucial for Nigeria’s ambition to scale up organic food production for export.

International markets, particularly in Europe, require strict compliance with organic input standards, and the availability of certified fertilisers is considered a key factor in meeting export quality requirements for crops such as grains, vegetables, fruits and speciality produce.

The recognition comes within the context of Nigeria’s current import control regime, under which the Nigeria Customs Service restricts the importation of specific mineral or chemical fertilisers containing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK), including formulations such as NPK 15-15-15. These restrictions exclude organic fertilisers classified under HS Codes 3105.10.00.00 to 3105.90.00.00, drawing increased attention to compliant organic fertiliser options within the country.
