Obasanjo Congratulates Olubadan-designate Oba Ladoja

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday congratulated the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja on his ascension to the throne as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan land.

LEADERSHIP reports that Ibadan, the Oyo State capital has been thrown into ceremony mood for the coronation of Oba Ladoja scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2026, at Mapo Hall in Ibadan.

Obasanjo, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, prayed for Oba Ladoja in Yoruba, “Ade a pe lori, bata a pe lese.

The former President, presently in New York for the 80th United Nations (UN) General Assembly session, however, charged the new Olubadan to separate tradition from politics while noting that the new position requires humility and tolerance, among others.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate you in advance of a formal announcement. Ade a pe lori, bata a pe lese.

“It is an exalted and responsible position to be the traditional ruler of all Ibadan people. It requires humility, patience, divine wisdom, tolerance, and advice from wide and varied quarters to succeed.
