Muhammad who stated this during the weekend while addressing a press conference in Kaduna said,  “The discovery of  oil blocks in the north is a national economic breakthrough.”

He disclosed that the newly discovered oil blocks in Bauchi and Gombe will be developed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited, adding that it will be jointly managed by the Sterling Global Oil and New Nigeria Development Commission (NNDC) alongside the NNPC Limited.

He said, “Apart from the Gombe, Bauchi discovery, there are other locations in the Northern part of the country with large deposits of hydrocarbons. All these deposits will generally impact the Nigerian economy.”

According to him, the oil and gas discovered in Gombe and Bauchi cannot be consumed by the indigenes of the two states alone, but for the benefit of the entire nation.

Muhammad who also spoke on the 2023 general election said that the presidential candidate of the ruling APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be in a better position to maintain and sustain the oil and gas exploration in Bauchi and Gombe states.

He therefore advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party flag bearer, Mr Peter Obi, to step down for Tinubu.

“To avoid a waste of time and resources, we humbly advise other presidential candidates, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr Peter Obi of Labour Party to step down and join hands with Tinubu to build a better future for Nigeria and her citizens,” he said.
