Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu has been crowned joint-top scorer in the 2025–26 Turkish Süper Lig season, sharing the prestigious Golden Boot award with Eldor Shomurodov of İstanbul Başakşehir.
Both forwards finished the campaign with 22 league goals apiece, following a tense final round of fixtures.
Shomurodov, the Uzbekistan international, netted on the last day of the season against Gaziantep FK – a crucial strike that pulled him level with Onuachu, who had been the sole leader for much of the closing weeks.
The Trabzonspor target man ends the season as the sixth player in his club’s history to claim the Süper Lig top scorer honour, joining an elite list of Trabzonspor legends.
Onuachu’s consistency throughout the season proved vital for his side, even as the race for the Golden Boot went down to the wire. Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe’s Anderson Talisca secured third place with a respectable 19 goals.
Interestingly, last season’s top scorer, Victor Osimhen also a Nigerian international dominated the league with 26 goals in just 30 matches. Osimhen followed that up with another strong campaign in 2025–26, finding the net 15 times across 22 league appearances, though he was unable to retain his crown.
The shared Golden Boot highlights the competitive nature of Turkey’s top flight this term, with Onuachu adding another accolade to his career and further cementing his reputation as one of Africa’s most reliable finishers.
