Abia State governor, Alex Otti has urged the founder of CSS Global Integrated Farms, Nasarawa State, John-Kennedy Opara to establish an agricultural farm in the state, assuring him that the state is business friendly.

Otti stated this, yesterday, while speaking at a capacity building training programme organised for the first batch of 300 trainees selected from the state for a two-week agricultural training at the farm.

He said the incentives will include swift land acquisition processes facilitated by the government with Certificate of Occupancies processed within 30 days in a digital format.

He used the forum to emphasise the role of agriculture in not only addressing issues of food security but also in curbing unemployment and fostering socio-economic stability

He, therefore, appealed to the trainees to leverage on the opportunity and equip themselves with the knowledge and skills to spearhead agricultural transformation in the state.
The governor, who also assured them of comprehensive support, added that the government would cover their expenses from inception to the completion of their training.

Otti, while appreciating and thanking Opara for the approval for the training, he assured him of the commitment of his administration to the success of every agricultural programme in the state.

In a paper presentation titled; “Agricultural Development And Food Security- The Path To Human And Capital Resources Development”, Opara underscored the importance of agriculture in a growing economy like that of the state.

He said after their training which include various agricultural value chains, the trainees will become wealth creators and employers of labour thereby ending joblessness, hunger, criminality and poverty among them.
