Rotarian Obioha made this statement yesterday during his official investiture as the 16th president of Rotary Club Abuja Gwarinpa, under District 9127.

He noted that Rotary has been a beacon of service in Nigeria and around the world for over a hundred years. In the adopted community of Gwarinpa, the club’s impact has been profound and far-reaching.

“The adopted community of Gwarinpa village has seen significant benefits from various Rotary initiatives, particularly in maternal and child health and environmental prevention,” he stated.

“These projects exemplify Rotary’s dedication to making a tangible difference in the lives of those they serve. The club is taking another step towards furthering its mission by raising funds for its projects for the year, under the theme ‘The Magic of Rotary.’ This theme aims to inspire and transform communities.

“One of the most impactful examples of Rotary’s work is the provision of a borehole to a community that lacked access to clean water. This initiative highlights Rotary’s commitment to improving lives,” he added.

Eleninoke emphasized that as the club continues to extend its reach beyond Gwarinpa, it remains steadfast in its mission to serve and uplift communities.

“These efforts are a testament to the enduring spirit of Rotary and its dedication to creating positive change, one project at a time,” he said.

Eleninoke further explained, “We are dedicated to humanitarian services. Rotary is all about friendship and service to humanity. What is friendship? It’s where millions of people come together to know each other, become friends, and connect with one another.

“We serve among ourselves through what we call classification defense, and we always patronize each other’s services. Rotary provides various services to humanity across seven basic areas of focus: hygiene, environmental protection, economic empowerment, maternal and child health, disease prevention, and more.”
