The hosts defeated Canada 82-73 in the quarter-final and came through 73-69 against Germany in the semi-final.
Ahead of the final, US star Stephen Curry expressed confidence in the team’s ability to secure another gold medal.
“Every game has been something different. It’s going to be something different, with, hopefully, everybody contributing on Saturday,” Curry said after the semi-final victory against Serbia.

“Hopefully, we have another win on Saturday, and you can look back at this game as the one that challenged us and tested us and the one you will remember just because of the circumstances of being down the entire game and having to come back.”
