Nigerian reggae and dance hall singer, Patoranking has returned with ‘No Jonze’, a street-rooted, festival-ready anthem built on the raw bounce of the 90’s Galala music.
Patoranking whose real name is Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, has dropped ‘No Jonze’ his first major release since 2023 giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from his forthcoming fifth studio album.
The song celebrates hard work, determination and focus urging one to seizing every opportunity and believe in one’s dreams.
The music video of No Jonze’ is directed by Director K and was shot in Ajegunle. I It features cameos from Galala pioneers such as Marvelous Benjy and Allen B, including a mural honouring legends like Daddy Showkey, Daddy Fresh, Oritse Femi, Baba Fryo, African China, and Danfo Drivers.
The video captures the spirit of 1990s Lagos while adding a modern touch. Through No Jonze, Patoranking not only celebrates his musical roots but also reaffirms the power of resilience and authenticity in the dynamics Afrobeats scene.
His upcoming album is expected to dig deeper into his roots and spotlight the connection between local African sounds and global music trends.
Patoranking is an artiste whose modest upbringing and close relationship with his family instilled a drive and determination to create a better future, and led him to music. He started his music career doing underground collaborations, with artists such as X Project, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone.
