The  wife of Jigawa state governor, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi, has called on women to show kindness and compassion to their families, neighbours and the community at large by offering assistance in cash or kind in the month of Ramadan and beyond.

The first lady made the call during the distribution of food items to the APC women’s wing, widows and less privileged women held at the Government House in Dutse.

She noted that women are pivotal in promoting happiness within the family and society in general, and that every woman has something to offer in fostering this happiness.

Hajiya Hadiza quoted from the Hadith, the tradition of the Holy Prophet, which says: “You shall express love and compassion to your fellow brothers, even by smiling and greeting.” Another tradition encourages kindness, stating: “You shall encourage kindness, even by offering a glass of water to one another.”

“This is the holy month of Ramadan, in which the reward for every good deed is doubled. Therefore, I am calling on fellow women to use the available resources and opportunities you have to reap the reward of Jannatul Firdaus in the hereafter.”

She also charged women to fear Allah in all their endeavours, uphold discipline and moral values, as they are always looked upon as role models for younger generations.

The items distributed to over 6,000 beneficiaries included bags of rice, semolina, maize, among others.
