“Life is a journey from birth to death, our promised land is not on earth but in heaven. Fr. John has gone to heaven, the journey in the Old Testament is a symbol of our hope to God as we go through this life”.

Fr. Wase lamented the incessant killings of human lives in the country, saying that Nigerians should stop killing each other.

According to him, as human beings we must be conscious of death because nobody knows the time or the hour of death.

It would be recalled that, late Fr Abashiya’s mother, Mrs Regina Abashiya died few days after her son’s death.

The funeral had in attendance, the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna, Most Rev Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, the Bishop of Kano, Most Rev John Namaza Niyiring, the Administrator of Zaria Diocese, Rev Fr Michael Kargoko, the Vicar-general of Kafanchan Diocese, Monsignor Joseph Biliyock and so many other priests.
